You are the manager of a secret revolution. As you try to unite scattered factions, you will face moral dilemmas, historical tensions, and the supernatural elements of dark Balkan folklore.
There are no random card draws. You command a visible hand of specific heroes, troops, and resources. To solve a crisis on the 2D map, you must dispatch your assets and lock them in for a set duration.
The game strictly enforces the N+1 Rule: there is always one more threat than you have heroes. If Karađorđe is besieging a fort for three turns, he cannot protect a burning village elsewhere. Every choice carries a heavy opportunity cost.
Time is your greatest enemy. The Sultan's suspicion acts as a pressure valve that constantly pushes the game forward. Raising a large standing army or resolving encounters aggressively will cause this meter to spike.
Every 7 turns, you must pay a Tribute to vent the pressure. Refuse, and you face devastating punitive raids. If the clock hits 100%, the uprising is permanently crushed.
No frustrating hidden dice rolls. The math is visible. If a mission requires 5 Might and your hero only has 3, you can choose to gamble.
Alternatively, you can use the Push mechanic: sacrifice limited resources (gold, consumables, or the lives of your troops) to bridge the stat gap and guarantee a 100% success rate. You are always in control of your own risks.
When a new crisis erupts, you can trigger an Emergency Recall on a deployed hero. The cost? The original mission instantly fails. All committed gold and troops are destroyed, and the hero returns wounded.
You must constantly weigh the value of sunk costs against emerging, existential threats to the rebellion.
You will fail. But failure is just material for the blind storyteller's epic poems. Every run calculates your Turns Survived, Gold Hoarded, and Encounters Resolved into Legacy Points.
Spend these points with the Guslar to expand the randomized RNG pool. Unlock weird heroes, complex event chains, and specific starting perks to build-craft your strategy for the next attempt.
